… the journey begins!
“The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides” Audrey Hepburn
A little bit about myself…
My name is Sabela, I am originally From Spain, and currently living in Ireland. I do live in Ireland from the past 4 years and I like it so far, the weather and landscapes are not really different from my homeland, Galicia (Spain).
My homeland it’s called Porto do Son, a small fishing village in the West Coast of Spain, I lived there for the most of my life, and it’s a lovely place where you can see the sunset in winter days. If are curious about where I come from, you can find more information Here. We have amazing places there, beaches, waterfalls, great landscapes and food (the most typical is seafood). I did work there for 4 years in the local tourist information office and it was also an amazing experience.
I decided to come to Ireland due to the lack of good job opportunities in Spain. I studied Art History and Archeaeology in the University of Santiago de Compostela (the city from the well known “Camino“). With these kind of formation, the possiblites to get a job there are quite low (but not impossible, of courseッ), so I decided to come here with no hesitation, and start a new life from the catch.
Everything went well, I got a job in a restaurant as a waitress and it helped me a lot improving my englishand getting used to Ireland and the live here, which I found very exciting (new life, new city, meeting new people, everything was a novelty!). So after that I started working in a customer service position, it was a good step to progress in my career and helped me to improve certain skills that I have at the moment (communication, organization, etc). At this moment I was here for almost a year, so I knew already a lot of new people, made some friends, not too bad!
Actually, and after having a good and productive experience in customer service and partner support, plus several formations, I work in a software multinational as support engineer. It´s been a great experience! It´s my second year within the company and I feel that here in Ireland, the companies find very valuable your skills and they believe in you as a professional (if they see that you can be a good fit in certain roles), which doesn´t happens in many other countries, unfortunately. If you are hard worker, motivated and commited, you have big chances to achieve great goals! I know you’ve heard it a thousand times before, but it’s true: hard work pays off .
And a little bit more about me, I love mantras, astrology, horror films, nature places, animals, food and travel (so much!).
